Jim Altum

Jim is the owner and lead designer at Litchfield Landscape Company. Jim’s love of landscaping began at a young age when he helped his father in their family landscaping business. This experience led him to pursue a degree in Horticulture and Landscape Design at Purdue University. After graduating in 1978, Jim joined the family business where he worked for 16 years.

In 1994, Jim’s passion for design led him to begin The Litchfield Landscape Company that exclusively emphasizes design and plant material. Litchfield and Jim have since designed and installed landscapes throughout the state of Indiana. Jim’s wife, Louise, also a graduate from Purdue, with studies in Horticulture and Business, works with Jim in the business. Together, they have 3 grown children.
